Begin thinking about your Party Decorations
- Decorations can help complement and enhance the chosen party theme. Most party shops have a great supply of affordable decorations readily available for purchase.
- Another decoration supplier alternative is dress-up/costume shops or your entertainer.
- No matter whether your theme is a specific colour, occasion or topic, your decorations should reflect and support the theme being carried through your entire event.
- Below is a list of inexpensive decorative items you could consider for your child's party:
- Balloons: coloured, metallic, plain, printed, foil and large letters, numbers and shapes - don't forget to purchase matching balloon ties/strings, table weights, clips and order your helium tank
- Streamers: a great addition to any party area!
- Banners: printed on foil, paper, canvas, cardboard and corflute - most party shops can design and print personalised banners with images and special messages so be sure to ask the customer service representative if this is something you are interested in
- Table confetti: foil, plastic, cardboard - confetti can be purchased in small packets and comes in a wide variety of shapes, words and numbers. Confetti is a great addition to any table and looks fabulous when sprinkled around your centrepieces.
- Party Hats, Whistles & Poppers: sit one at each table place setting - they will look wonderful and add to the party vibe!
- Table cloths: paper, plastic, round, rectangular, plain, coloured - your table cloth should match your party theme! If your theme is a character and not a specific colour, make sure your table cloths are in the colour that best matches your theme e.g. a Thomas the Tank Engine theme would suit blue table cloths and a Barbie theme would suit pink
- Table skirts: pleated, ruffled, plain or coloured - skirts can make your tables look a little more dressed
- Themed cut-outs and posters: most party shops have a fabulous range of themed cut-outs and posters which can be used to decorate the walls around the party area
- Pinatas: these look great, come in theme and should be used as a game towards the end of the party - a great way to kill two birds with one stone!
- Table Decorations/Centrepieces: most party shops have an endless supply of items that could be used as your centrepieces. Simple, safe and effective pieces include a bunch of balloons tied to a fancy table weight with confetti sprinkled around it, balloon/lolly or chocolate boxes which can be purchased from your party shop or themed blow-ups or enlarged props that match your theme
- Special occassion glasses/cups: make the party child feel extra special with a decorative glass/cup just for them!
