Consider your Party Invitations
- Do you want to have personalised/themed invitations printed or use standard pre-designed invitations?
- If you plan to have invitations designed, it is best that you source a designer early on so there is enough time for a bit of two-and-throwing until the invitation is exactly what you envisaged. Some print houses can also take several days so ensure a buffer period here as well.
- If you feel like getting creative, it is best to think about the design and make a mock-up several weeks in advance to ensure you give yourself plenty of time to source everything you require for your self-designed invitations.
- Your invitation should include the following information:
- The party child's name
- Type of event e.g. Join us for Nathan's 8th Birthday Party!
- The guests name
- Date
- Time (include both the start and finish times)
- Venue
- RSVP date and phone number
- Any special dress requirements e.g. is there a theme?
- If it is an outdoor event, is there an alternative wet-weather venue option?
- If guests are not from your local area, include a map of the local area highlighting the specific venue location.

Fill out your Party Invitations
- No matter whether you are having your invitations designed or using pre-designed invitation pads, you should fill in all of the relevant party details as well as address all of the invitation envelopes.
- When writing children’s names on the invitations, ensure you write their surname as well so there is no confusion over which Debbie, Jaclyn or Joanne it is.
- Make your RSVP date 7 days before the day of the party.
Send out your Invitations
- Separate and post those that need to be posted and then give your child the remaining invitations to hand out to all of their friends.
- Keep a list of all of the invited guests with you at all times so you can keep track of the RSVPs.
